ShellterWOOD & ASM: a new way of building
Traditional, permanent construction and building materials such as steel and concrete put heavy pressure on CO2 emissions and leave a negative impact on the environment. A lot of energy is also lost due to the limited insulation of these materials, and they require heavy foundations. The end point is a fully depreciated structure with little to no reusable building material, which ends up in landfill.
We want to do things differently. It has to be different. Future regulations will require municipalities to build more naturally, efficiently and circularly. This increases the pressure and the desire to take more responsibility, and the search for a sustainable answer to these challenges.

The wooden structures of the ASM-ShellterWOOD Gym/Sports Hall are all about smart reuse. Instead of adding emissions, they actually store CO2. They are also light for efficient transport, need no foundation and are flexible to build and reuse. That way they retain their value, we prevent waste and reduce our ecological footprint.
By combining ShellterWOOD’s circular, flexible and (semi-)permanent modular building system, which fully meets current building standards, with ASM’s innovative, movement-focused approach to sports design, the result is a sustainable, future-proof facility.

Temporary, semi-permanent & permanent
The ready-made solution can be implemented quickly and delivered turnkey at both temporary and permanent locations. There are various financing options, such as purchase, purchase with buy-back, rental or lease. We are happy to discuss the options!
Circular
ShellterWOOD’s modular and reusable timber structure is made of laminated spruce with high thermal insulation properties. Thanks to small teams, minimal machinery and little disruption to the environment, it is ideal for urban infill projects and city-centre projects.
Flexible and modular
Designed for easy assembly, disassembly and reassembly. Buildings can easily be extended, reduced or adapted. Every component is designed to be dismantled and reused without loss of quality or waste.
Activation
Activation guarantees optimal knowledge among users. ASM ensures that the design, layout and experience are and remain up to ASM standards. With annual updates, training and access to online support with videos and courses.
Additional modules
From as little as 5x5m: thanks to the modular structure, every ASM-ShellterWOOD Gym and Sports Hall can be enriched with additional modules, so you can put together the most versatile sport and movement hub yourself. This creates space for specific target groups such as physiotherapy, senior sport, fitness, a dance club or even an ‘active learning classroom’ for the school.
